About The Epoch
It is necessary to step back from current events, so as to gain perspective, but it is irresponsible to depart from consideration of these events, and in so doing, neglect your fellow man. The goal of The Epoch is to research, critically consider and analyze world events so as to gain a greater understanding of the world at large. The Epoch does not simply rely upon other news agencies reporting, but seeks out both original interviews and contacts throughout the world so as to gain a direct line into the global pulse. The publication is a neutral forum for discussion and debate about the international community, ideally contributing to the greater news dialogue. Currently St. John’s students have few school-supported outlets that engage world affairs. The Epoch offers an arena for, and fosters an interest in, these events. The St. John’s approach, to contemplate all possibilities in the quest for truth, not only can, but also should be applied to the news. The Epoch hopes to satisfy this necessity.
